Connection method

Description

Wi-Fi

On your Mac, click the Wi-Fi status menu in the menu bar at the top of the screen, then choose a network.

Personal Hotspot

You may be able to use your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular models) to connect your Mac to the internet. On your Mac, click the Wi-Fi status menu in the menu bar, then choose your Personal Hotspot.

Ethernet

If you have access to an Ethernet network, connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your Mac. If your Mac doesn’t have an Ethernet port, you need an adapter to connect the cable to your Mac.

Don’t see the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar? Click the Control Centre status menu in the menu bar at the top of the screen, click Wi-Fi, then choose a network or your Personal Hotspot.

If you’re still unable to connect to the internet, contact Apple Support. You can use the Apple Support app (available from the App Store) on iPhone or iPad.
